Alex studied biochemistry and biophysics at Oregon State University before earning a Ph.D. in marine biology from Texas A&M University at Galveston.
Her first role after graduate school was as a molecular biologist at the Texas Department of State Health Services. Along the way, she saw how often students are asked to make life-shaping graduate decisions without a practical framework for doing so.

Grad Strategist exists to help people make intentional choices about programs, advisors, funding, and the kind of life they want graduate study to support.
The aim is not to make every applicant follow the same formula. It is to help each person ask better questions, notice meaningful fit, and make an informed next move.
